We booked Olympias for our honeymoon mostly off a handful of photos and a good feeling about the reviews. Four nights later, it had become the story we tell first when anyone asks how the honeymoon went — not because of any one grand gesture, but because of how many small things were quietly right.
The Luxury Suite has its own separate sitting area, which sounds like a small detail until you're actually living in a room together for four days — having somewhere to have morning coffee that isn't the bed made a real difference. The walnut carving around the windows catches the light differently morning to evening, and we ended up just watching that more than either of us expected to.
"On our second evening, Saif arranged a private Shikara out to open water right as the sun was setting behind the Pir Panjal range, with nobody else around. We hadn't asked for it. He'd just noticed it was our honeymoon and decided we should have that evening."
Dinner most nights was on the sundeck rather than the dining room, which we hadn't specifically requested but which Saif offered once he understood we wanted the trip to feel private. The Wazwan came out in stages, unhurried, with enough time between courses to actually talk. It's a different kind of pacing than a restaurant, and it suited the trip.
What stayed with us afterward wasn't any single luxury touch — it was the sense that someone had actually paid attention to what kind of week we needed and shaped small parts of the stay around that, without ever making it feel performative. We're already planning to come back for our first anniversary.
